THANK YOU, ROMP
ROMP members staffed a bicycle information table during the recent Henry W. Coe State Park Backcountry Weekend April 24-25 as they have for the past several years, and gave advice and counsel to a total of 125 riders. During the course of the weekend, there was not a single reported incident of conflict between bicyclists and hikers or horseback riders. A couple of singletrack trails had bicycle restrictions just for that specific weekend, and these closures were universally respected. The ROMP table clearly had a very positive impact both in providing leadership and guidance to bicyclists and in demonstrating to other park users how well the bicycle community can exercise its responsibility. Another month, another great mailing party. This time eleven folks helped fold, seal, and label more than 400 newsletters, and then helped deliver many of them to local bike shops. With this dedicated crew, the work was done in half an hour and another hour and a half was spend finishing the pizza, drinks, and chit-chat. Hats off to Don B., Bob C., Catherine M., Jim O., John R., Dave P., Joe W., Paul M., Helen, and Linda W.
